I never get tired of his precious, wide-eyed innocence. He's a self-contained entertainment system that never ceases to delight and amuse us, and so far, with no commercials.

It seems like every time we watch Spencer, either at our house, or at Rachelle's, he seems to grow at least an inch and gets a little heavier when we pick him up. He's at least 29" long, and weighs about 23 pounds, and he's not quite 8 months old yet! Grandma Teri taught him to clap just by repeating the phrase "clap-clap" while clapping her hands. He's a quick learner with a good memory, so now when he's sitting on his booster seat, he'll start clapping on his own, as long as he's not pre-occupied with eating or chewing on some strap or toy. Of course, he has to go through his routine of facial expressions, as if he was auditioning for a stage drama!

Rachelle & Ryan bought Spencer this adorable little fisherman's hat. It fits him to a "T", and green seems to suit him well. With those big eyes any hat would just enhance his cherib little face!

When Spencer came over on April 27th, Teri was wearing her Winnie The Pooh visor. Spencer took one look, and he knew he just had to have it. I don't remember the conversation exactly, but I'm sure it went something like this:

Well, it's not an exact fit, but I like it!

I'll give you all my old pacifiers for it!

Nah. She's too old for pacifiers.

Grandpa, I need help here!

I got lots of bibs! All in different colors! Some barely drooled on!

Sheesh! I just realized she can't understand baby talk!

Don't feel bad, Spencer. You still have your booster seat.
Rachelle dropped Spencer off on April 20th for the day. This was our first time feeding him, but it was hard to take pictures while you're doing that. Even though he eats whatever you feed him, with a few exceptions, he still wants to gnaw on something in between meals all the time. One of these days teeth will appear. It's inevitable. Then he'll be ready for REAL PEOPLE FOOD!

I went over to watch Spencer for a few of hours on March 23rd while Rachelle had to run some errands. Spencer was taking a nap in his playpen, and when he woke up, he put on his "wake up face" as usual. His eyes are wide open, no movement whatsoever, and he just stares at you unblinkingly for several minutes. Personally, I think he's getting his game plan in order for the next few hours. When he does get up to speed, there's no stopping him: Xbox controller and mini-laptop, here I come!
